Guys. Is Mycroft married? We always asume he is single, and as he said to Sherlock ‘all lives end, all hearts are broken, caring is not an advantage’. So it makes no sense for him to be married- it just goes against everything he says. And yet there is a wedding ring. This show is so pernickety about detail and so I doubt that the ring would be there without a reason. Unless it isn’t a wedding ring. It is on the wrong hand but it must mean something.

Mark has answered questions about the ring several times on twitter - it’s a prop not his own, and it’s not being worn as ‘a wedding ring’.
